Sustainability Jobs – Philippines is an online community by SustainablePH and the Society of Sustainability Practitioners. It is for sustainability professionals looking for opportunities in ESG, sustainability, and sustainable development. According to Marimar “Mai” Baticulon, the mind behind the #AMA session, it started after she received consecutive job opportunities and inquiries on sustainability.
From the typical job posting, it hosted its weekly Ask Me Anything (AMA) Sessions on the last quarter of 2021, where anyone can ask together with sustainability practitioners who are willing to share their knowledge and experience in the sustainability space.
Its first successful episode aired on September 10, 2021 (Friday) at 6:00 PM with its host, Mai, and guest, Jobe de la Torre — talking about ESG as a career and how the ESG industry works. It is also powered by dedicated volunteers including Aubrey Buenaventura who reached out to Mai and willingly impart her time to manage the community and Jonas Marie Dumdum who also volunteered to host November sessions.
This group has been a haven for those people who are starting to shift their career in sustainability and for those fresh graduates who are interested to take this path as well. Now and then, job opportunities, webinars, and short courses were posted from different industries such as retail, eCommerce, energy, and a lot more — ranging to various sectors like NGO, corporate, government, and academe.
