Melissa Yeung-Yap – Arts and Culture Sustainability Leadership
Melissa discovered sustainability as her mission when she visited an orphanage and the slum communities in Sta. Mesa. These experiences became an eye-opener for her to see how blessed she is with her life. She prayed, and that’s where she decided to rise to the challenge of being a channel of blessings to others.
Currently, she is the Founder and CEO of Got Heart Group of Social Enterprises, where they became the bridge for other communities to sell their products; while advocating for a Zero-Waste lifestyle. Since she was 13 years old, she has been conducting art therapy sessions for underprivileged children and those affected by disasters. She also founded the Got HeART Gallery to further promote her advocacies and support various artists and artisans. In addition to that, Melissa is the CEO of Greenstone Pharmaceutical, the maker of well-known Katinko and other wellness products.
While doing her part, Melissa perceived that she is going in the right direction. Being able to help people live better lives is an accomplishment to her. Seeing and helping people in need she envisioned a sustainable Philippines as a country that’s,
... conducive for playing, working, and living - fresh air, lots of greeneries, safe areas for children to learn and play; lots of opportunities for parents and adults to provide for their families and live healthy lives.”
Thank you for keeping and trying to create innovative solutions, and continuing to be an inspiration.
She clearly expressed that as long as we can, let’s take advantage of our comfortable lives by extending ourselves to those who need a hand. This is not just a challenge, but a meaningful task that our Almighty God has given us. Let’s be a channel of blessings and sustainability in ways we can and have.
